  In 2010 Albion invested £6.5m in Orchard Portman to acquire a nursing home and constructed a 23 bed psychiatric care hospital as an extension to the existing building. The sale of Orchard Portman will result in the creation of one single psychiatric care hospital with a total of 46 beds, renamed Cygnet Hospital Taunton.  Orchard Portman has addressed a current shortage of dedicated psychiatric care units in the South West of England and under Albion’s guidance, the hospital has experienced extremely high occupancy rates.  Orchard Portman cares for elderly patients suffering from a mental... read more
With January being Cervical Health Awareness Month in the U.S, DySIS Medical announced today that over one third of its targeted enrollment is now under contract for its 50 site, 9000 patient colposcopy study. Over 12,000 U.S. women are diagnosed with cervical cancer annually and 4,300 die from the disease. Colposcopy is the diagnostic procedure performed after an abnormal Pap smear to detect precancerous areas that may need early treatment to prevent invasive cervical cancer. Process Systems Enterprise has announced that Richard Longdon, CEO of AVEVA Group plc, the global provider of engineering software to the process industries, has been appointed as non-executive chairman of PSE. He succeeds outgoing Chairman Keith Guy, who is stepping down after more than 13 years in the position. Richard joined AVEVA in 1984. Lancashire precision engineering company ELE Advanced Technologies will expand its activities in the aerospace supply chain after having been awarded £1.2 million in funding over four years by the UK government’s industry-led Sharing in Growth (SiG) programme for the aerospace supply chain.
